As a result of THQ’s bankruptcy (one of the biggest publishers in the industry) in December 2012, many assets were auctioned in 2013. Between winners like Sega (Company of Heroes) and Ubisoft (South Park: The Stick of Truth) was a not so known company: Nordic Games (Darksiders, Red Faction).
“It was kind of surprise to some industry veterans and players that we were the winner of the auction of the THQ titles” Nordic GM Klemens Kruezer said in an interview for Polygon.
Now Nordic Games has completed a deal, separate from last year’s auction, to acquire the trademark of the defunct company and have the ability to publish games under the THQ brand. It may do so with Darksiders, MX vs. ATV or Red Faction. They’ve already announced in December on the official Facebook page that there is a plan to publish MX vs. ATV Supercross in the first half of this year.
Klemens Kruezer said that more announcements were coming at the Gamescom convention in August.
